Camera Deck Mount For Sea Kayak Pt2

As promised, here is a shortish video taken last night using the new camera mount and a Pentax Optio W60. I never expected super high quality video so am quite pleased with the results.

The camera mount was superb – the 3 suckers allowed it to be placed on the curve of the deck with no problem and despite some quite lumpy conditions at time and a few waves breaking over the camera and mount stuck fast.

  1. Hello!

Very nice video! Where did you find the mount?

Great quality video there! Gives a real feel of sitting on the end of your boat :-)
Can i ask what the song was?
    Thanks

  3. Nice work on the video. I was thinking of something similar minus the suction cups, just a stainless bolt through the deck for the ball mount to sit on. I guess this rig can be moved around a bit more easily or transferred to another boat if the need arises.

  4. I want one! I got a locally made mount here a few weeks ago and the bloody thing came off before I’d even mounted the camera, and sank never to be seen again!

  5. Hey this was shot on my 60th birthday–thanks for celebrating it! Nice piece. I’ve got a vacuum suction mount that holds my video camera, protected by a waterproof housing. Big and clunky, but some nice video. This past weekend I shot some hand-held video with my Optio W20 for the first time, and I was pretty impressed. May start doing more of that. I have a single Sticky-pod mount to test, like the idea of the three suction mount. less wobble.
