Vernal Equinox

Vernal Equinox

This weekend was the Vernal Equinox and having had to turn down an invite to paddle around the Isle Of Wight due to family commitments I was desperate to get out on the water and make the most of the extremely high tides and good weather.

Saturday night provided the ideal opportunity with winds at F2, the moon large in the sky and glassy conditions in the Solent. I had a fantastic paddle along one of my usual night routes under a star filled sky watching the twinkling of the lights over on the Island as well as a surprising number campfires along the mainland coast. Seems a lot of other people wanted to experience the Equinox by the sea.

It also gave me another opportunity to paddle the Valley Etain, the review of which has been submitted to Ocean Paddler Magazine and should appear in the next issue. I took the opportunity to snap a few shots of the Etain whilst out and about so thought I would share a few.
