Then a recent trip to the Woodmill Shop opened my eyes to a relatively new publication – Ocean Paddler Magazine.

The magazine is amazing quality, packed full of superb photographs and interesting articles from a host of well known sea paddlers. The layout is clean, crisp and modern and from a design standpoint could grace any style conscious coffee table. To date the feedback from readers has been excellent.

To quote the publishers:

Aimed solely at the ocean paddler and published 12 times a year by ‘Masik Publishing’, Ocean Paddler’s 84 pages includes trip and expedition reports, technique articles, reviews, guides, interviews and much, much more.

At present, Ocean Paddler is looking to establish itself and build a regular readership. As editor Graham comments:

Rich and I are putting everything we can into making this a valued resource for the sea kayaking community, and for us it’s all about givng you all a top quality sea kayaking magazine which does justice to what we all get out of sea kayaking.

And congratulations go to Graham & Richard for achieving their aim to date.

Ocean Paddler is currently available direct or via most good kayaking retailers. If you’re quick, you may even catch the tail end of a early subscribers deal, offering 50% of the yearly price.

All in all, a top quality magazine that more than deserves to be a success.
