Two circumnavigations, one of the UK and the other of Ireland, have recently begun and may be of interest to folks.
Justine Curgenven, along with Barry Shaw and Roger Chandler, are now 5 days into their circumnavigation of Ireland. The trip seems to be going well so far, despite Justine suffering from a minor illness for a couple of days.
Taking a look at the photos on the various blogs/facebook there seem to be Go-Pro cameras mounted on all the boats – here’s hoping the footage will form part of ‘This Is The Sea 6’??
Their progress can be followed through the following:
The Around Britain 4 Britain circumnavigation departed on the 17th May from Totnes. Lee Pooley and Nick Arding are undertaking the 2400 mile journey to raise money for two worthy charities – CLIC Sargent and the Marine Conservation Society.
Interestingly the original idea for the trip came after a circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight two years ago!
The following video was shot at their launch event and gives an interesting insight into the origins of the trip, the charities being supported and some of the kit they have chosen to use.
